I have found it challenging to explain to Esther that she is going to have a little sister soon. She is 2 years + 5 months right now, so she can understand things on a certain level, but I'm sure it's going to rock her world once it finally happens. She looooves people with brown skin, especially babies, so she loves the photo of Sylvia that we have on the fridge. She also says many times that she wants to "ride the airplane to Africa". She knows that Mamma and Pappa want to go get Sylvia and bring her "back home to Esther's house". She can only say "Cynthia" right now, but we are working on it.
It's going to be interesting to figure out how to keep Esther sufficiently stimulated in South Africa. HOPEFULLY there will be other families at the same guesthouse with toddlers and older children. That would be the best solution. Esther THRIVES on social interaction with other people, especially slightly older children.
We simply don't have the money to go and do a bunch of stuff, plus she just won't appreciate it all that much at this age. We'll probably go to the zoo, and maybe a pool, but other than that we'll be hanging around in the same place for 3 weeks, walking to and from the mall, walking to the Union buildings with the pretty views, and looking at the mass chaos that an influx of soccer tourists can cause in an otherwise rather peaceful city.
The first sister challenge will be having them sleep in the same room in SA, but since that is how they will be sleeping here at home, they'll just have to get used to it right away!

I'm sooooo excited and happy for all of you. It's awesome to be reading about your wonderful journey again. She is so beautiful. I will continue to be praying for all of you! In Christ
How wonderful! And don't worry, Esther will love the new baby, although of course, it will be natural to feel some jealousy. Be prepared to have two kids glued to your laps!
Sleeping together is wonderful - my two kids still sleep in the same room and they are now 7 and 8 yrs old. It gives them security and comfort.
So so happy for you!!! What an absolutely gorgeous little girl!
Be sure to bring a "big sister" gift for Sylvia to "give" Esther. I have to laugh that she calls Sylvia "Cynthia" (my given name)!
I'll be watching for updates! God bless all of you!
Cindy
We just love the picture of Esther and Sylvia! Good luck with everything! We will follow your journey!
Don´t worry to much! Everything will work out just fine! God has a plan; be calm.
Love from all of us
Anne, Mathias and Alissa soon 2
