The Zoo Flop

We were all looking forward to going to the Zoo, since we knew Esther would be excited to see a bunch of the animals, especially since she's been asking about the elephants since we got here.

As we walked in, she kept saying, “Mamma, we are at the zoo!” just to verify. Then she kept asking us where the horses were (you know, since we don't see horses EVERY SINGLE DAY from our yard at home).

We did find some elephants, thankfully, but I felt kind of sorry for them.

This is Esther doing her impression of an elephant, just for them.

We saw monkeys. Esther said, “Look, look! That monkey looks like Pappa!” (it had a beard)

These birds look like something out of Willy Wonka.

Sylvia was generally happy and along for the ride, and who doesn't like a baby-in-a-hat picture?!

Then, unfortunately, Esther got really really sick with a high fever and general miserableness, and didn't enjoy her time at all. Oh well.

But, the tigers were our favorite this time, despite being a non-African animal.

And I like this plant because it LOOKS like an animal!
